A mother in Brighton left her baby in the sun, with the result that the baby suffered forty per cent burns. The baby was brought to the hospital after other people made the police aware of the fact that the baby boy had blisters all over his legs. Eyewitnesses say that the mother seemed drunk and not aware of the fact that she left her baby burning in the sun. The case is brought to the police and other authorities. The mother and her husband say that they are mortified about what happened to their baby, but point out that the mother is not irresponsible or bad for the baby. She just drank one lager and was feeling sick because of the sun. What they want to do now is bring up their son and put this whole nightmare behind them.
I believe that what the mother did was totally irresponsible and not mother like at all. When you bring your baby to the beach, and it is hot and sunny, you know that you need to cover him up. Secondly, it is, in my opinion, totally irresponsible to drink when you are alone with your baby. Nobody else that she knew was around to pay attention, so she had the full responsibility. I think this is a lack of parenting and I think it is only fair to give the mother a warning or another punishment so that next time, she will act like an adult.

ReplyDeleteI am shocked to hear that a mother is drinking during the day when she is out with her baby to the beach on a hot summer day. I think it is a weak excuse that the mother was confused because of the heath. I mean, you don’t leave your baby alone and defiantly not on the beach with no one there who is watching after the baby. The mother was irresponsible. She should be under control for a year or so. This child has to life with the rest of his live with the scars and be reminded that his mother was to drunk and irresponsible. I know the mother sees the baby every day and is also remained of what happened but that way she won’t be irresponsible anymore.
ReplyDeleteI think that mothers shouldn't drink when they are on their own with their babies. It can like in this case make them less alert to any problems that the baby has. There were other people on the beach but it wasn't their responsibility to look after this women's baby. She should have made sure she covered the baby properly before letting the baby sit in a hot part of the beach. However I think that she will hopefully have learnt her lesson with this situation and she take better care of her baby in the future.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a huge issue! A mother should always be prepared when it comes to her child and this mother lacked preparation and good care. Who would do such a thing as leaving a child alone on the beach? Any responsible person would stay with it and at least create some kind of shadow to keep it out of the sun. The mother is completely responsible and should receive some kind of punishment for her (lack) of actions.
